DTC P0973, P0974 (A/T)

DTC P0973  : Shift Solenoid Valve A Circuit Low DTC P0974  : Shift Solenoid Valve A Circuit High

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .

DTC (A/T)

1. Problem verification

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -3. Test-drive under these conditions:

   DTC	Test Condition
   P0973	Start the engine. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to R position/mode.
   P0974	Start the engine. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to D position/mode.

   -4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   P0974 Shift Solenoid Valve A Circuit High

   Is DTC P0973 or P0974 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good TCM , then recheck. If this DTC goes away and the TCM was substituted, replace the original TCM .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between shift solenoid valve A and the TCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
