P0729, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0735, P0736, P076F, P07D9, P07F6, P07F7 (A/T)

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .

DTC (A/T)

1. DTC check

   -1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	Confirmed DTC	Pending DTC	Freeze Frame
   P0716 Mainshaft Speed Sensor Performance
   P0717 Mainshaft Speed Sensor No Signal
   P0721 Countershaft Speed Sensor Performance
   P0722 Countershaft Speed Sensor No Signal
   P2820 Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve A Stuck OFF

   Is DTC P0716, P0717, P0721, P0722, or P2820 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

   NO 

   Go to step 2.

2. Problem verification

   -1. Except DTC P0736: Raise the vehicle on a lift. Make sure it is securely supported, and allow all four wheels to rotate freely.

   -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -4. Test-drive under these conditions:

   DTC	Test Condition
   P0729	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 6th gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P0731	Start the engine, disable the VSA . While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to D position/mode, and wait for at least 10 seconds. Run the vehicle in 1st gear for at least 10 seconds.
   P0732	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 2nd gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P0733	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 3rd gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P0734	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 4th gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P0735	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 5th gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P0736	Start the engine. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to R position/mode, and wait for several seconds.
   P076F	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 7th gear for at least 20 seconds.

   DTC	Test Condition
   P07D9	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 8th gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P07F6	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 9th gear for at least 20 seconds.
   P07F7	Start the engine, disable the VSA . Run the vehicle in 10th gear for at least 20 seconds.

   -5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   Is DTC P0729, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0735, P0736, P076F, P07D9, P07F6, or P07F7 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Replace the transmission .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
