P0714 (A/T)

DTC P0714  : ATF Temperature Sensor Comparison

NOTE: 

• Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .
• Before troubleshooting this DTC, leave the engine off for at least 6 hours.
• Make sure there is no DTC (s) in the PGM-FI system.
• An engine block heater must not be used.

DTC (A/T)

1. Problem verification 1

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Compare the parameters below with the HDS.

   Signal	Current conditions
   	Values	Unit
   ATF Temperature
   ECT Sensor 2

   Are the temperatures about the same?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated. Replace the valve body assembly. Also replace the TCM .

2. Problem verification 2

   -1. Start the engine, and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on twice).

   -2. Compare the parameters below with the HDS.

   Are the temperatures about the same?

   YES 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between the ATF temperature sensor and the TCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated. Replace the valve body assembly. Also replace the TCM .
