DTC (Adaptive Damper System)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.
-4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC C1640-12 Left Front Damper Solenoid Circuit Short Failure C1641-12 Right Front Damper Solenoid Circuit Short Failure C1642-12 Left Rear Damper Solenoid Circuit Short Failure C1643-12 Right Rear Damper Solenoid Circuit Short Failure Is DTC C1640-12, C1641-12, C1642-12, or C1643-12 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
- Shorted wire check (ADS COIL OUT lines wire to wire)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Adaptive damper control unit 24P connector Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector -3. Check for continuity between the appropriate adaptive damper control unit 24P connector terminals (see table).

Repair a short in the wire between the adaptive damper control unit and appropriate damper actuator.
NO
Replace the appropriate damper unit.
