Wheel Alignment: Inspection

Use a commercially available computerized four wheel alignment equipment to measure wheel alignment (caster, camber, toe, and turning angle). Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

  1. Neutral Position Holding Mode - Enter (A/T)
  2. Caster - Inspect
    1. Check the caster angle.
    • If the measurement is within the specifications, measure the camber angle.
    • If the measurement is not within the specifications, check for bent or damaged suspension components.
    Mexico models 
      Caster angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  5 deg. 04 '+/-30 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  5 deg. 08 '+/-30 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 30 ') 
    USA and Canada models 
      Caster angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  5 deg. 11 '+/-30 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  5 deg. 15 '+/-30 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 30 ') 
  3. Camber - Inspect
    1. Check the camber angle.

    FRONT 

    FRONT 

    REAR 

    REAR 

    • If the measurement is within the specification, measure the toe-in.
    • If the measurement for the front camber is not within specification, go to front camber adjustment.
    • If the measurement for the rear camber is not within specification, check for bent or damaged suspension components.
    Mexico models 
      Camber angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  -0 deg. 55 '+/-45 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  -1 deg. 08 '+/-45 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 45 ') 
    USA and Canada models 
      Camber angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  -1 deg. 12 '+/-45 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  -1 deg. 26 '+/-45 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 45 ') 
    Mexico models 
      Camber angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  -0 deg. 12 '+/-30 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  -0 deg. 15 '+/-30 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 30 ') 
    USA and Canada models 
      Camber angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels:  -0 deg. 18 '+/-30 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels:  -0 deg. 20 '+/-30 ' 
    (Maximum difference between the right and left side: 0 deg. 30 ') 
  4. Rear Toe - Inspect
    NOTE:  Do the rear toe inspection before the front toe inspection.

    1. Release the parking brake to avoid an incorrect measurement.

    2. Check the toe.

    • If adjustment is required, go to rear toe adjustment.
    • If no adjustment is required, go to front toe inspection.
    Rear total toe-in:  2.1 +2 -1 mm (0.08 +0.08 -0.04 in) 
  5. Front Toe - Inspect
    NOTE:  Do the rear toe inspection before the front toe inspection.

    1. Set the steering column to the middle tilt position and telescopic position (if equipped).

    2. Center the steering wheel spokes, and hold it.

    3. Check the toe with the wheels pointed straight ahead.

    • If adjustment is required, go to the front toe adjustment.
    • If no adjustment is required, remove the alignment equipment.
    Front total toe-in:  0 +/- 2 mm (0.00 +/- 0.08 in) 
  6. Turning Angle - Inspect

    1. Turn the wheel right and left while applying the brake, and measure the turning angle of both wheels.
    • If the measurement is not within specifications, even up both sides of the tie-rod threaded section while adjusting the front toe.
    • If it is correct, but the turning angle is not within the specifications, check for bent or damaged suspension components.
    Mexico models 
      Turning angle: 
        Without 19 inch wheels: 
            Inward:  39 deg. 16 '+/-2 deg. 
            Outward (reference):  31 deg. 45 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels: 
          A/T 
            Inward:  37 deg. 17 '+/-2 deg. 
            Outward (reference):  30 deg. 40 ' 
          CVT 
            Inward:  39 deg. 05 '+/-2 deg. 
            Outward (reference):  31 deg. 39 ' 
            Inward:  37 deg. 07 '+/-2 deg. 
            Outward (reference):  30 deg. 33 ' 
          CVT 
            Inward:  38 deg. 53 '+/-2 deg. 
            Outward (reference):  31 deg. 32 ' 
        With 19 inch wheels: 
          M/T, A/T 
            Inward:  36 deg. 56 '+/-2 deg.
