Head Up Display System Description
Overview
The head up display indicates various information as a virtual image on the windshield glass, without the driver having to change the driver's line of sight or focus. The display can be switched between audio, HFL, speed, ACC/LKAS, tachometer, gear position, navigation, and compass by operation of the multi-information switch. The display is linked with multi-information display (MID) to display warnings and is linked to the audio system to display audio commands.
Basic Control/Function
The image projected by the Head up display can be adjusted to brightness and position matching the operational preferences of the customer. The function to be operated can be selected by pressing the main switch.
Illumination Control
The ambient lux signal from the automatic lighting/rain sensor and the headlight Lo/Hi output signal from the relay control module are received via the B-CAN, and automatic illumination adjustment is performed. Manual illumination adjustment can be performed by operation of the up or the down button. Illumination adjustment by each remote can be performed on the basis of the remote ID signal, which is transmitted from the MICU via the B-CAN.
Mirror Control
The position of the projection area on the windshield can be adjusted up or down by operation of the up or the down button. Adjustment of the display position by each remote control can be performed on the basis of the remote ID signal, which is transmitted from the MICU via the B-CAN.
Display Correction Function
Display angle of the head up display projected onto the windshield can be corrected with the HDS. This function does not need to be performed for predelivery inspection and for replacing the head up display, but needs to be performed only for meeting customer's request to correct the state of display.
HDS operation
1. Select HEAD UP DISPLAY from the BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SELECT menu with the HDS.
2. Select ADJUSTMENT from the HUD TEST MODE MENU, and follow the instructions on the display HDS.
