DTC P2583-97  : Dust or Dirt on the Millimeter Wave Radar

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame
P2583-97 Dust or Dirt on the Millimeter Wave Radar    

DTC (IDAS)

  1. Millimeter wave radar visual check

    -1. Remove the front bumper .

    -2. Check the frame for warpage or damage, and check the installation of the millimeter wave radar and the bracket.

    -3. Clean any dirt or debris from the millimeter wave radar.

    Is the installation and the frame OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Front grille installation check

    -1. Check the installation of the front grille.

    Is the installation OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Reinstall the front grille or the front bumper correctly. If damaged, replace it.

  3. Problem verification

    -1. Reinstall the front bumper .

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -5. Test-drive the vehicle at speeds 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for 2 minutes with the ACC activated.

    NOTE:  Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.

    -6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    P2583-97 Dust or Dirt on the Millimeter Wave Radar    

    Is DTC P2583-97 indicated?

    YES 

    Check for loose or poor connections. If OK, replace the millimeter wave radar .

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
