Roof Opening Panel Shield: Removal

Remove the headliner. REFER to: Headliner .

Remove the parcel shelf. REFER to: Parcel Shelf .

To hard stop, then continue to next step and if necessary adjust motor back to align cable as shown in illustration.

On both sides. Make sure the drive cable is properly aligned before installing alignment pins during removal. This ensures that the drive cables are properly aligned for installation.
- 2.NOTE: On a new roof opening panel shield, cable alignment pins and a tension retaining pin are attached in position, and a string between the RH and LH retaining brackets to hold them together are to aid in installation, all to be removed after installation but before operating the shield.
For reuse of existing roof opening panel shield, insert cable alignment pins (or a 4 mm hex end wrench) on both sides and tape as necessary to retain in position for installation.

- 6.NOTE: When reuse of the original roof opening panel shield is required, hold and secure the fabric roll firmly against the retaining bracket on both sides when removing and until installed. Separation of the fabric roll and the bracket may cause a loss of fabric tension and component failure. If storing on workbench for reuse, taping or string from end cap to end cap is advised.
