Roof Opening Panel Drain Cup: Installation

  1. 1.

    NOTE: Avoid scratching the frame. Repair all minor scratches or exposed metal on the frame following manufacturer's instructions. Use the same primer, and urethane adhesive.
    NOTE: Touching the adhesive surface will impair rebonding.
    NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
    NOTE: Prepare the frame, the drain cup and the trimmed PU adhesive in accordance with the instructions supplied with the adhesive kit.

    Remove the excess urethane adhesive from the frame using a utility knife. Trim the urethane adhesive leaving a 1-2 mm (0.04-0.08 in) base of original equipment urethane adhesive on the frame.

    Use the General Equipment: Knife

    NOTE: Be sure to use the same brand and cure-rate products for the urethane adhesive and glass primer. Do not mix different brands of urethane adhesive and primer. For additional information, refer to the MATERIALS .

    Using a clean soft brush, apply the specified primer to the urethane to the urethane path and allow 10 minutes drying time for the primer.

    : Sika Urethane Metal and Glass Primer / Sika 206 G+P

    NOTE: During the curing time of the polyurethane (PU) adhesive, the door windows must be left open.
    NOTE: Use either a high-ratio, electric or battery-operated caulk gun that will apply the urethane adhesive with less effort and continuous bead.
    NOTE: Be sure to use the same brand and cure-rate products for the urethane adhesive and glass primer. Do not mix different brands of urethane adhesive and primer. For additional information, refer to the MATERIALS .

    Apply the specified urethane adhesive.

    Material

    : Sika Tack ASAP Urethane Adhesive

    NOTE: If using original threaded retainers, clean the thread locking adhesive from threads, then apply new thread locking adhesive.
    NOTE: LH side shown in illustration, RH side similar.

    Install the roof opening panel drain cup and the retainers.

    Material

    : Threadlock 262 / TA-26 (WSK-M2G351-A6)

    Torque

    : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    After the urethane adhesive has cured, check the seal for air or water leaks through the urethane adhesive bead and add urethane adhesive as necessary.

    NOTE: If using original threaded retainers, clean the thread locking adhesive from threads, then apply new thread locking adhesive.

      Install the cable housing tube retainer clip.

    1. 2.

      Connect the cable housing tube bracket and roof opening panel drain hose.

    1. 3.

      Install the cable housing tube bracket retainers.

      Material

      : Threadlock 262 / TA-26 (WSK-M2G351-A6)

      Torque

      : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  1. 7.

    NOTE: If using original threaded retainers, clean the thread locking adhesive from threads, then apply new thread locking adhesive.
    NOTE: LH side shown in illustration, RH side similar.

    Install the rear cam and the retainers.

    Material

    : Threadlock 262 / TA-26 (WSK-M2G351-A6)

    Torque

    : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    Position the headliner.

    On both sides. Install the sun visor clip and tighten the retainer.

      Connect the electrical connector.

      Install the sun visor.

      Install the clip.

      Install the cap.

    On both sides. Position the seatbelt through the trim panel and install trim panel.

    Connect the electrical connector.

    Install the interior rear view mirror. REFER to: Interior Rear View Mirror .

  1. 14.

    On both sides, install the D-pillar trim panel. REFER to: D-Pillar Trim Panel .

  1. 15.

    On both sides, install the C-pillar upper trim panel. REFER to: C-Pillar Upper Trim Panel .

  1. 16.

    On both sides, remove the B-pillar trim panel. REFER to: B-Pillar Trim Panel .

  1. 17.

    Attach the wire harness retainers.

    On both sides, remove the A-pillar trim panel. REFER to: A-Pillar Trim Panel .

    Install the roof opening panel glass. REFER to: Roof Opening Panel Glass  - Vehicles With: Panoramic Roof Opening Panel.
