i-VTM SYSTEM - AWD INDICATOR DOES NOT GO OFF, AND NO DTCs ARE STORED

NOTE:  Do not jump the SCS line.

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Test the 12 volt battery.

    12 Volt Battery Test (Without Auto Idle Stop System) or

    12 Volt Battery Test (With Auto Idle Stop System)

    Charge or replace the 12 volt battery if necessary.

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    Does the AWD indicator stay on?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. VSA system check

    -1. Check the VSA system indicator.

    Does the VSA system indicator turn OFF?

    YES 

    The VSA system is OK. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to the Troubleshoot The VSA System

  3. HDS communication check

    -1. Check that the HDS communicates with the vehicle.

    Does the HDS communicate with the vehicle?

    YES 

    The HDS communication is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Go to: DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2016 2017 2018) .

  4. i-VTM system communication check

    -1. Check the Mode Menu of the i-VTM with the HDS.

    Does the HDS show the Mode Menu of the i-VTM?

    YES 

    The i-VTM system communication is OK. Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Go to the i-VTM symptom troubleshooting for HDS does not communicate - i-VTM System Symptom Troubleshooting - HDS does not communicate (AWD) .

  5. i-VTM control unit status check

    -1. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions
    Values Unit Values Unit
    Yaw/G Sensor Center Point Learning Completed      
    Rear Differential Operation Check Completed      

    Do the current condition(s) match the threshold?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Do the Initialization in the Adjustment with the HDS.

  6. Gauge control module operation check

    -1. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function. Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2016 2017 2018)

    Does the AWD indicator blink?

    YES 

    The gauge control module is OK. Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Replace the Gauge Control Module - Removal and Installation

  7. Gauge control module DTC check

    -1. Check for DTCs in the METER system with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
       

    Is DTC indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting in the gauge control module.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good i-VTM Control Unit (AWD) .
