Shift Lever Knob and Shift Lever Knob Cover Replacement

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it.
  1. Pull down the shift lever ring (A).

  2. Wrap the end of a flat-tip screwdriver (B) with tape, pry the shift lever knob cover lock tabs, then remove the shift lever knob cover (C).
  3. Remove the D3 switch (A) by expanding the lock tabs (B) from the shift lever knob (C).

  4. Remove the screws (D), then remove the shift lever knob.
  5. Replace the shift lever knob or the shift lever knob cover.
  6. Install the shift lever knob over the shift lever.
  7. Secure the shift lever knob with new screws.
  8. Install the D3 switch in the shift lever knob.
  9. Pull down the shift lever ring if necessary, and install the shift lever knob cover. Then pull up the shift lever ring to secure the knob cover.
