Audio system information does not display on the audio display unit (without navigation, without USB adapter)

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
  1. Check the connections at the audio display unit 12P connector and audio unit connector B (20P).

    Are the connections or terminals OK? 

    YES  -Go to step 2.

    NO  -Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck.

  2. Measure the voltage between audio display unit 12P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground.

    Is there battery voltage? 

    YES  -Go to step 3.

    NO  -Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the No. B16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the audio display unit.

  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  4. Measure the voltage between audio display unit 12P connector terminal No. 10 and body ground.

    Is there less than 0.2 V? 

    YES  -Go to step 5.

    NO  -Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio display unit and body ground (G501) (see AUDIO WIRE HARNESS (WITH NAVIGATION) (I) ).

  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Disconnect the audio display unit 12P connector and audio unit connector B (20P).
  7. Check for continuity between audio unit connector B (20P) and the audio display unit 12P connector according to the table.

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -Go to step 8.

    NO  -There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio display unit. Repair or replace the affected harness.

  8. Check for continuity between audio unit connector B (20P) and body ground according to the table.

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio display unit. Repair or replace the affected harness.

    NO  -Go to step 9.

  9. Check for continuity between the terminals of audio unit connector B (20P) according to the table.

    Is there continuity between any of the terminals? 

    YES  -There is a short in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

    NO  -Substitute a known-good audio display unit (see AUDIO DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio display unit (see AUDIO DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ). If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ).
