SRS Components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- From under the dash, remove the driver's heater panel (A) and the passenger's heater panel (B).
- Pull out the panel to detach the clips (C, D) and to release the hooks (E).
- Release the panel from the stud (F).
- Remove these items:
- Center middle panel (see CENTER MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's middle panel (see PASSENGER'S MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the screws (A, B) securing the center lower console (C).
- Remove the center lower console (A).
- Pull out the console to detach the clips (B, C).
- Disconnect the humidity/in-car temperature sensor connector (D) and the air hose (E).
- Disconnect the center lower console subharness connector (F).
- Disconnect the cool box hoses (G) on both sides.
- Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Make sure the air hose and the cool box hoses are connected securely.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
