Roof Rail Replacement

Special Tools Required 

KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*

*Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program, 888-424-6857

NOTE:
  • Take care not to scratch the covers, the roof rail, or the body.
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
  1. Use the access hole (A) to pry up on the front cover (B). Pry up until you detach the clips, and release the rib (D) from the front bracket (C), then remove the front cover.

  2. Use the access hole (A) to pry up on the rear cover (B). Pry up until you detach the clips, and release the rib (D) from the rear bracket (C), then remove the rear cover.

  3. Remove the nuts with a TORX T30 bit from the front bracket (A) and the rear bracket (B), then remove the roof rail (C).

    Gasket removal 

  4. If necessary, release the tabs (A) and the pins (B), then remove the front gasket (C) and the rear gasket (D).

    Stay removal 

  5. If necessary, remove the screws with a TORX T30 bit, then separate the bar (A) from the front stay (B) and the rear stay (C).

  6. Install the roof rail in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
    • Make sure the rail covers are securely in place by pulling up on them.
