DTC B1175: Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Malfunction
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see
TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTCs B1175 indicated?
YES -Go to step 4.
NO -Intermittent failure, the fuel level sensor circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Do the fuel gauge sending unit test (see
FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST
).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
YES -Go to step 5
NO -Replace the fuel tank unit (see FUEL TANK UNIT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector and the gauge control module 32P connector, and check for loose or damaged terminals.
- Reconnect the connectors, and then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Measure the voltage between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 27 and No. 28 and fuel tank unit 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.Fig 1: Measuring Voltage Between Gauge Control Module 32P Connector Terminals And Fuel Tank Unit 4P Connector Terminals
