DTC (SRS)
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds. Buckle and unbuckle the front passenger's seat belt several times.
- 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0052-13: Open or increased resistance in the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch Is DTC B0052-13 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- SRS unit check
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire without disconnecting the SRS unit connector B (39P).
Terminal A SRS unit connector B (39P) No. 27 - Refer to: SRS UNIT CONNECTOR FOR INPUTS AND OUTPUTS (2014 2015), or SRS UNIT CONNECTOR FOR INPUTS AND OUTPUTS (2017) Terminal B Body ground - 3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0052-1:1 Short or decreased resistance in the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch B0052-2B: Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch Is DTC B0052-11 or B0052-2B indicated?
YES (with power seat)
Go to step 5.
YES (without power seat)
Go to step 3.
NO
Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector B (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or REPLACE THE SRS UNIT . If the DTC does not clear, replace the right side wire harness or the front passenger's seat wire harness.
- Open wire check (without power seat) (FRBC line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Remove the jumper wire from SRS unit connector B (39P).
- 3. Disconnect the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (A) on the right side wire harness.
- 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (on the right side wire harness): disconnected Test point 1 Front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector No. 1 (on the right side wire harness) Test point 2 Body ground Is there 10 V or more?
YES
The FRBC wire is OK. Go to step 4.
NO
Open in the right side wire harness; replace the right side wire harness, then clear the DTC.
- Open wire check (GND line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (on the right side wire harness): disconnected Test point 1 Front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector No. 2 (on the right side wire harness) Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Faulty front passenger's seat belt buckle switch; REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY , then clear the DTC.
NO
Open in the right side wire harness; check for a poor ground at G652. If the ground is OK, replace the right side wire harness, then clear the DTC.
