Differential Carrier/Final Driven Gear Replacement

  1. Remove the carrier bearings (see CARRIER BEARING REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Remove the final driven gear (A) from the differential carrier (B), and replace the differential carrier or the final driven gear. The final driven gear bolts have left-hand threads.

  3. Install the final driven gear in the direction shown on the differential carrier.
  4. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in a crisscross pattern in at least two or three steps.
  5. Install the carrier bearings (see CARRIER BEARING REPLACEMENT  ).
