Paddle Shifter + (Upshift Switch) or Paddle Shifter - (Downshift Switch) Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
2. Remove the two screws (A) securing the steering wheel rear cover (B), then remove the steering wheel rear cover.

3. Remove the four screws (C) securing the steering wheel trim assembly (D), and the ground cable (E). And remove the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) 4P connector (F) and the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) 4P connector (G) from its holder. Disconnect the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) 4P connector and the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) 4P connector, and then remove the steering wheel trim assembly.
4. Remove the screws (A) securing the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) (B) or paddle shifter - (downshift switch) (C), then remove the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) or paddle shifter - (downshift switch), and replace it with a new one.

5. Install the new paddle shifter + (upshift switch) or paddle shifter - (downshift switch) on the steering wheel, and secure it with the screws.
6. Install the steering wheel trim assembly, and secure it with the four screws. Install the ground cable, connect the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) 4P connector and the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) 4P connector, then install the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) 4P connector and the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) 4P connector into its holder.
7. Install the steering wheel rear cover with the two screws.
8. Install the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION ).
