Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement: Installation

NOTE:
  • Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.
  • The front passenger's weight sensor are part of the seat track and must be replaced as an assembly.
  1. Install the bracket (A), then tighten the nuts (B) to the specified torque.

  2. Install the clips (C).
  3. Install the front passenger's weight sensor assembly (A) with new mounting bolts (B) under the seat frame.
    NOTE: Make sure both of the hooks (C) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (D). If the hooks are not properly secured, the seat weight sensors will not perform properly.

  4. Connect the front passenger's weight sensor connectors (E), then install the clip (F).
  5. Reinstall the front passenger's seat (see HEAD RESTRAINT TRIM REPLACEMENT ).
  6. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
  7. Clear any DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO CLEAR DTCS  ).
  8. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization (see FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSOR INITIALIZATION  ).
  9. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
