DTC 83-22: No Signal From the Outer Side Front Passenger's Weight Sensor

NOTE:
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO CLEAR DTCS  ).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
  3. Check for DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO CLEAR DTCS  ).

    Is DTC 83-22 indicated? 

    YES  -Go to step  4.

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES  . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  5. Disconnect the outer side front passenger's weight sensor 3P connector (A) on the front passenger's seat wire harness.

  6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
  7. Measure the voltage between outer side front passenger's weight sensor 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3.

    Is there more than 6 V? 

    YES  -Faulty outer side front passenger's weight sensor; replace the outer side front passenger's weight sensor (see FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT  ), then clear the DTC.

    NO  -Open in the front passenger's seat wire harness; replace the front passenger's seat wire harness, then clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC is still present, replace the ODS unit (see ODS UNIT REPLACEMENT  ).
