CVT model

  1. Check under these conditions:
    • At 2, 500 m (8, 200 ft) or lower (At higher altitudes, auto idle stop is often prevented because of the lack of vacuum in the brake booster).
    • The low temperature indicator does not come on.
    • The IMA battery level gauge displays at least half of its scale.
    • All electrical items (headlights, blower fan, radiator fan, rear window defogger, A/C, etc.) are off.
    • The transmission is in D.
    • The D indicator is not flashing.
    • Any indicator does not come on.
    • No heavy load in the vehicle (A heavy load prevents auto idle stop because the system "thinks" the vehicle is going uphill).
    • Drive the vehicle on a flat road or downhill.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Test-drive under these conditions:
    • Drive the vehicle at 25 mph (40 km/h) in D, then stop it within 5-15 seconds.
    • Press and hold the brake pedal until the vehicle stops (do not pump the brake pedal).
    • Keep the brake pedal pressed after the vehicle stops.
  4. Repeat step  3 several times, then check the auto idle stop system.

    Is auto idle stop working?

YES  -The system is OK at this time. If needed, refer to AUTO IDLE STOP CONDITIONS  .

NO  -Go to the auto idle stop system troubleshooting (see CVT MODEL  ).
