Intermediate Shaft Installation
- Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft (A) contact the differential thoroughly with solvent, and dry them with compressed air.NOTE: Do not wash the rubber parts with solvent.
- Insert the intermediate shaft into the differential correctly.NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft carefully to prevent damaging the oil seal (B).
- Install the flange bolt (A) and the two dowel bolts (B).
- Install the heat shield (A).
- Install the right driveshaft (see DRIVESHAFT INSTALLATION ).
- Refill the transmission with the recommended transmission fluid (see TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT ).
- Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary (see WHEEL ALIGNMENT ).
- Test-drive the vehicle.
