Intermediate Shaft Installation
- Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the differential thoroughly with solvent, and dry them with compressed air.NOTE: Do not wash the rubber parts with solvent.
- Insert the intermediate shaft (A) into the differential correctly.NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft carefully to prevent damaging the oil seal.
- Install the flange bolt (B), and the two dowel bolts (C), then install a new set ring (D).
- Install the rear warm up three way catalytic converter (WU-TWC) bracket (A).
- Install the exhaust pipe A (see step 45 on TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION ).
- Install the subframe stiffener (see step 46 on TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION ).
- Install the right driveshaft (see FRONT DRIVESHAFT INSTALLATION ).
- Refill the transmission with the recommended fluid (see ATF REPLACEMENT ).
- Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary (see WHEEL ALIGNMENT ).
- Test-drive the vehicle.
