Starter Removal and Installation: Removal

Do the battery removal procedure (see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
Remove the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT ).
Remove the battery base (see step 10 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
Disconnect the positive starter cable (A) and the S terminal connector (B).

Remove the upper radiator hose bracket (C) and the dipstick (D).
Remove the two bolts holding the starter, then remove the starter (E) and the gasket (F).
