Starter Removal and Installation: Installation

Install the starter (A), then tighten the mounting bolts (B).
NOTE: Always use a new gasket (C). E D

Install the upper radiator hose bracket (D) and the dipstick (E).
Connect the positive starter cable (F) and the S terminal connector (G). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.
Install the battery base (see step 47 on ENGINE INSTALLATION ).
Install the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT ).
Do the battery installation procedure (see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
Start the engine to make sure the starter works properly.
