DTC B1175: Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
Wait for more than 30 seconds.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTCs B1175 indicated?

YES -Go to step 5.

NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Disconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector.
Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector.
Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 21 and No. 22 and fuel tank unit 4P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 2 respectively.

Is there continuity?

YES -Go to step 9.

NO -Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
Do the fuel gauge sending unit test (see FUEL FILL PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?

YES -Replace the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ).

NO -Replace fuel gauge sending unit (see FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT ).
