VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 158-01

DTC 158-01:

ECU Software Update Failure

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information How To Troubleshoot The VSA System.

1. Update the VSA modulator-control unit Testing and Inspection.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 158-01 indicated?

YES -

Replace the VSA modulator-control unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting.
