Apply grease to the 14 mm ball joint thread protector and the ball joint on the areas shown (A). This will prevent damage to the ball joint puller and thread of ball joint.

Install the 14 mm ball joint thread protector (A) by hand, all the way onto the threads of the ball joint.

Install the ball joint puller (B) as shown.
With a wrench, unscrew the 14 mm ball joint thread protector to apply pressure against the ball joint puller until the ball joint pin pops loose from the knuckle.
Remove the ball joint puller and the ball joint thread protector from the knuckle and the end of the ball joint pin, and pull the ball joint out of the ball joint pin hole. Inspect the ball joint boot, and replace it if damaged.
Remove any oil, grease, dust, metal debris, and other foreign material from the stud portion of the ball joint stud.
