NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when disassembling and assembling the dashboard.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam (see DASHBOARD/STEERING HANGER BEAM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Tweeter grilles, both sides (see TWEETER )
- Driver's middle panel (see DRIVER'S MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Driver's vent panel (see DRIVER'S VENT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Instrument visor (see INSTRUMENT VISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT )
- Driver's footwell light connector (see GLOVE BOX LIGHT REPLACEMENT )
- Center panel (see PASSENGER'S MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Front center speaker grille (see FRONT CENTER SPEAKER )
- Shift lever:
- 5-speed A/T model (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL )
- 6-speed A/T model (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL )
- Without navigation and without USB adapter: Audio display unit (see AUDIO DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Without navigation and with USB adapter: Audio display-USB adapter control unit (see AUDIO DISPLAY-USB ADAPTER CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- With navigation: Navigation display unit (see NAVIGATION DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- With navigation: GPS antenna (see FRONT HFL-NAVIGATION-ANC MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Without navigation: Audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- With navigation: Audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Front passenger's airbag (see FRONT PASSENGER S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT )
Middle Area
- Detach the harness clips (A).
Upper side
Lower side
Passenger's Side
- Release the glove box light bulb socket (A), and detach the harness clips (B). Detach the harness clips (C) (for some models).
- Remove the bolts.
- Assemble the dashboard and the steering hanger beam in the reverse order of disassembly, and make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched before tightening the bolts.
