DTC B1175: Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Signals Input Error
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1175 indicated?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Intermittent failure, the fuel level sensor circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Disconnect the fuel pump 5P connector and gauge control module connector B (14P) and check for loose or damaged terminals.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reconnect the connectors, check for voltage between the No. 12 and No. 13 terminals of gauge control module connector B (14P) and No. 1 and No. 2 terminals of the fuel tank unit 5P connector.Fig 1: Checking Voltage Between Terminals Of Gauge Control Module 14P Connector And Fuel Tank Unit 5P Connector

Is there less than 1 V?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Repair the loose connection or open in the BLK/WHT or YEL/BLK wire between the gauge control module and fuel tank unit.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Check for continuity between gauge control module connector B (14P) No. 12 and No. 13 terminals and body ground.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Repair the short in the wire between the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.
- Do the fuel gauge sending unit test (see FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST
).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
YES - Substitute a known-good gauge control module and retest. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the gauge control module.
NO - Replace the fuel tank unit.
