DTC B1175: Fuel Gauge Unit Circuit Open

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  3. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
  4. Wait more than 30 seconds.
  5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC B1175 indicated? 

    YES  - Go to step  6.

    NO  - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connection or loose terminals at the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.

  6. Without disconnecting the gauge control module or fuel tank unit connector, measure the voltage, between gauge control module connector A (20P) No. 18 terminal and fuel tank unit 4P connector No. 1 terminal, and between gauge control module connector C (40P) No. 39 terminal and fuel tank unit 4P connector No. 3 terminal.

    Is there less than 0.1 V? 

    YES  - Go to step  7.

    NO  - Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.

  7. Test the fuel gauge sending unit (see FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST ).

    Is the fuel gauge sending unit normal? 

    YES  - Replace the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ).

    NO  - Replace the fuel gauge sending unit (see FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT ).
