DTC B1175: Fuel Gauge Unit Circuit Open
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
- Wait more than 30 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1175 indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connection or loose terminals at the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.
- Without disconnecting the gauge control module or fuel tank unit connector, measure the voltage, between gauge control module connector A (20P) No. 18 terminal and fuel tank unit 4P connector No. 1 terminal, and between gauge control module connector C (40P) No. 39 terminal and fuel tank unit 4P connector No. 3 terminal.

Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the fuel tank unit.
- Test the fuel gauge sending unit (see
FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST
).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit normal?
YES - Replace the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ).
NO - Replace the fuel gauge sending unit (see FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT ).
