DTC B1175: Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Open
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1175 indicated?
- YES - Go to step 4.
- NO - Intermittent failure, the fuel level sensor circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Do the fuel gauge sending unit test (see FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST
).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
- YES - Go to step 5.
- NO - Replace the fuel tank unit.
- Disconnect the fuel pump 5P connector and the gauge control module connector A (30P) and check for loose or damaged terminals.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reconnect the connectors, and check for voltage between the No. 3 and No. 4 terminals of gauge control module connector A (30P) and No. 1 and No. 2 terminals of the fuel tank unit 5P connector.Fig 1: Checking Voltage Between No. 3 & 4 Terminals Of Gauge Control Module Connector A (30P) And No. 1 & 2 Of Fuel Tank Unit 5P Connector

Is there less than 1 V?
- YES - Replace the gauge control module.
- NO - Repair the loose connection or open in the BLK/WHT or YEL/BLK wire between the gauge control module and fuel tank unit.
