Wheel Cylinders: Removal

NOTE: Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle, it may damage the paint, If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it immediately with water. To prevent spills, cover the hose joints with rags or shop towels. Use only genuine Honda wheel cylinder special bolts.
  1. Remove the brake drum. See REAR BRAKE DRUM  . Remove the brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  .
  2. Disconnect the brake line (A) from the wheel cylinder (B). See Fig 1 .

  3. Remove the bolt (C) and wheel cylinder from the backing plate. See Fig 1 .
  4. Apply Three Bond 1109G sealant (E) between the wheel cylinder (B) and the backing plate (D), and install the wheel cylinder. See Fig 1 .
