Master Cylinder: Removal
NOTE:
Do not spill brake fluid on vehicle, it may damage the paint. If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it immediately with water.
- Remove the reservoir cap, and remove the brake fluid.
- Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector (A) from the reservoir (B), and disconnect the brake lines (C) from the master cylinder (D). To prevent spills, cover the hose joints with rags or shop towels. See Fig 1 .
- Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts (E) and washers. See Fig 1 .
- Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster (F). Be careful not to bend or damage the brake pipes when removing the master cylinder. See Fig 1 .
- Remove the rod seal (G) from the brake booster. See Fig 1 .
