Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test
- Turn ignition off. Check fuse No. 25 (7.5-amp) in underdash fuse/relay box. Replace as necessary and retest system. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Remove fuel tank access panel under rear seat cushion. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit 3-pin connector. On sending units produced in Japan, use Fuel Sender Wrench (07NAC-SR20100) to remove fuel gauge sending unit. On sending units made in the US or Canada, remove 5 nuts to remove fuel gauge sending unit. Go to next step.
- Using Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM), measure resistance between fuel gauge sending unit terminals No. 1 and 2 (component side) with sending unit float held at empty (down), half-full (middle), and full (up) positions. See Fig 1 . Compare readings with FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS . If resistance values are not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
