Removal & Installation (Civic & CR-V)

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. On Civic, place rear wheels in trunk for weight distribution. Position hydraulic jack under connecting point for lower control arm and knuckle, to support suspension. Remove upper control arm mounting bolt from trailing arm. Remove upper control arm bushing mounting bolts from frame. Remove upper control arm from vehicle. See Figure. To install, reverse removal procedures. Loosely install mounting bolts. Final tightening of nuts and bolts should be performed with vehicle on ground. Tighten fasteners to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Check rear wheel alignment, adjust as necessary. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES in WHEEL ALIGNMENT article.
