Removal & Installation (Civic & CR-V)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Place wheels in trunk to provide ballast. Remove hub and bearing assembly. See HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY . Remove parking brake cable from backing plate (if necessary). Disconnect brake line from brake flexhose. Support lower arm using a hydraulic jack. Remove trailing arm pivot bushing-to-body retaining bolts.
- Remove compensator arm from trailing arm. Remove lower arm bolt at trailing arm. Remove trailing arm assembly. See Figure and Figure . To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Final tightening of nuts and bolts should be performed with vehicle on ground. Reconnect brake hose.
- Bleed hydraulic brake system. See DISC & DRUM article. Check rear wheel alignment, adjust as necessary. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES in WHEEL ALIGNMENT article.
