Removal & Installation (Civic & CR-V)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Place rear wheels in trunk for weight distribution. Remove mounting bolt from trailing arm. Remove stabilizer link attaching nut. Position hydraulic jack under connecting point of lower arm to knuckle and compress lower control arm upward. Remove strut mounting bolt. Remove mounting bolt from knuckle assembly. Slowly lower hydraulic jack until strut assembly is expanded. Remove lower control arm. See Figure.
- To install, lower rear suspension and loosely install lower control arm mounting bolt. Install strut assembly. Position hydraulic jack under connecting point of lower arm to knuckle. Using hydraulic jack, raise lower control arm until bolt hole aligns with knuckle. Loosely install mounting bolt to control arm to knuckle. Lower hydraulic jack and remove. Tighten fasteners, while vehicle is on ground, to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Check rear wheel alignment and adjust as necessary.
