Lower Control Arm & Ball Joint: Installation
- Position ball joint in steering knuckle. Install ball joint remover/installer on stud end of ball joint with large diameter opening facing ball joint. Position ball joint installer base over end of ball joint. See IDENTIFYING BALL JOINT INSTALLER BASE table. Using vise, press ball joint into knuckle.
- Install ball joint set ring and dust boot. Using dust boot set ring guide, install dust boot set ring. See IDENTIFYING DUST BOOT SET RING GUIDE table. Reverse removal procedure to install control arm. Use a NEW lower control arm pivot bolt. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
