Removal & Installation Driver-side
- Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable driver-side air bag. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Using Torx T30 bit, remove bolts securing air bag assembly to steering wheel. See Fig 1 . Disconnect horn connector from steering wheel, and remove air bag assembly.
- To install, connect horn connector to steering wheel, and position new air bag assembly in steering wheel. Secure with new Torx bolts. Tighten Torx bolts to 87 INCH lbs. (9.8 N.m). Activate driver-side air bag. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
