A/T Gear Position Switch: Installation

- Place A/T gear position switch in Neutral. Ensure control shaft is in Neutral position. Place selector lever in Neutral.
- Install A/T gear position switch and end cover. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect harness connector and clamp. Turn ignition on. Move selector lever through all gear positions. Ensure selected gear position corresponds with A/T gear position indicator.
- Start engine. Move selector lever through all gear positions and ensure selector lever cannot be moved to "R" position from "N" position unless selector lever is pulled. Ensure engine will not start in any position other than "N" or "P" positions. Ensure back-up lights illuminate when selector lever is in "R" position.
NOTE:
A/T gear position switch clicks in Neutral.
