Lock-Up Control Solenoid Valves

The PCM controls torque converter lock-up by delivering an output signal to lock-up control solenoid valves "A" and "B" on lock-up control solenoid valve assembly. Lock-up control solenoid valves and linear solenoid are activated in accordance with lock-up condition. See LOCK-UP CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE OPERATION  table. Lock-up control solenoid valve assembly is located on transaxle. See Figure.

LOCK-UP CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE OPERATION

Lock-Up Condition Solenoid Valve "A" Solenoid Valve "B" Linear Solenoid Pressure
No Lock-Up Off Off High
Half Lock-Up On (1) Low
Full Lock-Up On On High
Lock-Up During Deceleration On (1) Low
(1) Solenoid valve will cycle on and off.
