Linear Solenoid Assembly

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Linear solenoid assembly is located on right side of transaxle. See Figure. Disconnect solenoid harness connector.
  2. Measure resistance between solenoid harness connector terminals. Resistance should be about 5 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace linear solenoid assembly. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
  3. Check linear solenoid operation. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 1 (Red wire) and battery ground to terminal No. 2 (White wire). Clicking sound should be heard, indicating solenoid valve operation. If clicking sound is not heard, check solenoid fluid passages for dust or dirt. Clean as necessary and retest solenoid. If solenoid is sluggish or does not operate, replace linear solenoid assembly. See LINEAR SOLENOID ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
