Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Isuzu Hombre. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Knock Sensor (KS) is used to detect engine detonation. PCM will retard spark timing based on signals from KS module. The KS produces an AC signal voltage that is sent to the KS module. The amount of AC voltage produced is proportional to the amount of knock.
Conditions for setting this DTC are:
- Engine run time is greater than 20 seconds.
- ECT is greater than 131°F (56°C).
- KS voltage is not within preset range.
- Engine speed is greater than 1600 RPM.
- Engine vacuum is less than 33 kPa.
- MAP is greater than 60 kPa.
