Bleeding Procedures
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2001 Honda Prelude, 2001 Honda Odyssey, 2001 Honda Insight, 2001 Honda Civic, and 2001 Honda CR-V. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Raise and support vehicle. Fill master cylinder to maximum using only genuine Honda DOT 3 brake fluid. Attach rubber hose over end of bleed screw and place a container at hose end to catch fluid. Have someone slowly pump brake pedal. Loosen brake bleed screw. Allow brake pedal to travel to floor. Tighten bleed screw securely. Check fluid level after bleeding each wheel position. Repeat procedure for each wheel in sequence. On Civic, sequence is RR, FL, RL and FR. On all other models, sequence is FL, FR, RR and RL.
