Calipers (Pressure Bleeding)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS, 2001 Isuzu Trooper, 2000 Isuzu VehiCROSS, 2000 Isuzu Trooper, and 1999 Isuzu VehiCROSS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Start engine and allow it to idle. Clean master cylinder cap and surrounding area, and then remove cap. With pressure tank at least 1/2 full, connect tank to master cylinder using appropriate adapter(s).
  2. Attach bleed hose to first caliper bleed screw to be serviced. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE  table. Place other end of hose in clean transparent container. Partially fill container with clean brake fluid until end of hose is submerged in fluid.
  3. Open release valve on pressure tank. Open bleed screw, noting fluid flow. When fluid flowing into container is clear and bubble free, close bleed screw securely.
  4. Finish bleeding system in the same manner using correct sequence. Close release valve, and then remove pressure tank from master cylinder. Check master cylinder reservoir fluid level.
