Parking Brake (Rear Drum)

- Move parking brake to fully released position. Loosen parking brake cable by loosening lock nut and turning adjusting nut on equalizer bracket. See Fig 1 . Start engine and step on brake pedal several times to automatically adjust rear brakes. Turn engine off.
- Grasp second relay lever rod and rotate adjusting nut until cable slack is no longer present. Tighten lock nut. Apply about 66 lbs. (30 kg) of force to parking brake handle, 3 or 4 times, and move handle to full set position. If lever is properly adjusted, travel range between fully disengaged and fully engaged position should be 6-8 notches. Reset adjusting nut if travel range is not within limits.
