Master Cylinder: Disassembly

Remove fluid reservoir cover and seal. Drain brake fluid. Place master cylinder in vise. Pry reservoir and grommets from cylinder body. Remove snap ring and primary piston assembly. See Figure . Using air pressure, remove secondary piston assembly. Remove seals, spring retainer and spring.
NOTE:
If fluid contamination or corrosion is found, replace all rubber parts. Use clean brake fluid to bench-bleed master cylinder. Do not use any cleaner containing mineral oil, or rubber parts will be damaged.
