Removal & Installation (4.3L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove connectors from VCM. Remove mounting hardware. Remove VCM from engine compartment. Remove VCM access cover. Remove calibration PROM by squeezing each end of Blue PROM and pull upward. Inspect alignment notches of KS calibration PROM and set aside. DO NOT open KS PROM.
  2. To install, align notches of KS calibration PROM and socket. Gently press on ends of KS calibration PROM until firmly seated and click is heard. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
