Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Isuzu Hombre. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
A Class II serial data communications system is used to allow communication between systems. Each system connected to Class II serial data line is assigned its own recognition code (address). Address is used to identify which module or systems are communicating. Any system that cannot communicate correctly will also store appropriate communication DTCs that are assigned to system(s) it could not communicate with.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- Vehicle Control Module (VCM) established communications and received node alive or State of Health (SOH) messages during ignition cycle with Body Control Module (BCM).
- VCM cannot reestablish communications, or no node alive/SOH messages received with BCM for 5 seconds.
